KATE PARKER

My artistic practice spans the mediums of painting, sculpture and printmaking. I make use of free-flowing fabrics and canvases, incorporating found objects and elements of autobiographical narratives. The use of non-traditional fine art materials is used as a link to the domestic as well as a comment on the ideas of home and what we value.  The hidden stories between the folds of the works are observations on everything from memories, journeys, connections to landscapes and having a sense of belonging and self.

Mae fy ymarfer artistig yn rhychwantu cyfryngau paentio, cerflunio a gwneud printiau. Rwy'n defnyddio ffabrigau a chynfasau sy'n llifo'n rhydd, gan ymgorffori gwrthrychau a ddarganfuwyd ac elfennau o naratifau hunangofiannol. Defnyddir defnyddio deunyddiau celf gain anhraddodiadol fel cyswllt â'r domestig yn ogystal â sylw ar syniadau cartref a'r hyn yr ydym yn ei werthfawrogi. Mae'r straeon cudd rhwng plygiadau'r gweithiau yn arsylwadau ar bopeth o atgofion, teithiau, cysylltiadau â thirweddau a chael ymdeimlad o berthyn a hunan.
